Fit2Cure

Fit2Cure is a game that helps find real cures to real diseases! By playing this game you will be generating new knowledge that will lead to discovery of new drugs that could one day save millions of lives. Fit2Cure is also developing tools- Fit2CureMyDisease- that link to your genetics and inform you how the proteins you play with relate to mutations in your DNA. The game is easy to play. By fitting 2 shapes together you will be mimicking how drugs work. Normally drugs work by fitting into small holes present in protein molecules. These holes are called active sites. Computers take a long time to find specific drugs that fit into these holes in a protein. You can do it while having fun!



Our current game challenges you to find the active sites where specific drugs can fit into. Fit2Cure is the first game to test whether humans can do this.  So you will be participating in something novel. To help us determine whether the game is really working, we have selected drugs that have been studied very well. When you play the game, you get a score that reflects how close your solution is to what was found by experiments in the lab. The higher your score the closer you are to how drugs really work.
